So I guess I should explain the happy looking red-headed pup in the picture. Her name is Katniss. I named her after the main character in the Hunger Games movies. She was my birthday/Christmas present last year, and has been one of the greatest presents I have ever received. She just had her first birthday on August 15. Since we have had her, we have learned to make sure the food is pushed back on the counter. She does not like snooze buttons. She can run all day long. Katniss is so full of personality and energy. She has changed a lot of dynamics in my house.
I have had puppies, and dogs pretty much all my life. One of the great joys is that we grow together, and I get to be there as her personality comes out and is shaped. While we have had her for almost a year, everyday we learn something about her. This morning I learned that the was afraid to walk under a fallen branch. She got through it, and will probably never have that trepidation again. She loves to swim, but when it thundered the other evening, she ran inside.
So, while there are a lot of beautiful scenery pictures on this page, all of which we took, Katniss is a huge part of our lives.
